Medical Benefits

Hospital Room & Board.

Average semi-private room rate including nursing services.

Intensive Care Unit

Up to the overall policy limit.

Local Ambulance

Usual, reasonable and customary charges only when covered illness or injury results in hospital inpatient admission.

Urgent Care Center Co-Payment

Inside the U.S. $15 not subject to deductible. Waived with $0 deductible. Outside the U.S. $0 – no copayment.

Emergency Room Co-Payment

Inside the U.S. $200 co-payment for each use of emergency room for an illness unless you are admitted to the hospital. There will be no co-payment for emergency room treatment of an injury. Outside the U.S. no co-payment.

Emergency Dental

Up to $300 – not subject to deductible.

Emergency Eye Exam

Up to $150, $50 deductible per occurrence. Plan deductible is waived.

Acute Onset of Preexisting Condition

Up to the overall maximum limit. Up to $25,000 lifetime maximum for Emergency Medical Evacuation.

Outpatient Physical Therapy & Chiropractic

Up to $50 per day. Must be ordered by a physician.

Hospital Indemnity

$100 per day of inpatient hospitalization – not subject to deductible.

All Other Eligible Medical Expenses

Up to the overall Maximum Limit.

Trip Benefits

Accidental Death & Dismemberment

(Excludes loss due to common carrier accident). Coverage varies by age as set forth in the policy’s Schedule of Benefits.

Trip Interruption

Up to $10,000 – not subject to deductible.

Travel Delay

Up to $100 a day after a 12-hour delay requiring an unplanned overnight stay. Subject to a maximum of 2 days. Not subject to deductible.

Lost Checked Luggage

Up to $1,000 – not subject to deductible.

Border Entry Protection

Up to $500 if traveling on a valid B2 Visa and denied entry at U.S. border – Not subject to deductible. Several conditions and limitations apply as set forth in the Policy.

Return of Minor Child

Up to $50,000, not subject to deductible, if you are hospitalized and no other traveling adult is able to care for minor children the policy provides coverage to return the children to your home country.

Special Risks Benefits

Unexpected Medical Expenses

Our GlobalShield Essentials™ plan provides a $500,000 annual benefit with a $500 deductible. However, we provide you the flexibility to increase or decrease these limits to suit your personal needs and budget.

Emergency Medical Evacuation

Air/ground transport to the nearest appropriate medical facility or your home country if you have an onset of a life or limb-threatening illness or injury that cannot be treated locally where you are at.

Natural Disaster Replacement Accommodation

Up to $250 per day for 5 days (not subject to deductible).

Political Evacuation

Up to $100,000 lifetime maximum if the U.S. State Department issues a level 3 or higher travel advisory after your arrival.

Covid and Pandemics

We cover you for Covid like we cover any other illness.

Emergency Reunion

Up to $100,000 for round-trip air/ground transportation, meals and lodging for up to 15 days for a relative to be with you if you are hospitalized as a result of an Emergency Medical Evacuation. Not subject to deductible.

Bedside Visit

Up to $1,500 for round-trip air/ground transportation if you are confined to a hospital intensive care unit due to a life-threatening illness or injury. Not subject to deductible.

Terrorism

Up to $50,000 lifetime maximum of eligible medical expenses for treatment of injuries and illnesses resulting from an Act of Terrorism in a country in which the U.S. State Department has not issued a level 3 or higher travel advisory prior to your arrival. Subject to additional conditions and limitations as set forth in the Policy.

Kidnap and Ransom

If you are the victim of a Kidnap or Express Kidnapping for which a ransom is demanded for your release, this benefit offers coverage for crisis response fees and expense, ransom, and personal belongings. Several conditions and limitations apply as set forth in the Policy. Coverage from $10,000-$100,000. For higher limits contact us.

Repatriation of Remains

Up to the overall Maximum Limit. Not subject to deductible or coinsurance.

Local Burial or Cremation

Up to $5,000. Not subject to deductible.

Border Entry Protection

Up to $500 if traveling on a valid B2 Visa and denied entry at U.S. border – Not subject to deductible. Several conditions and limitations apply as set forth in the Policy.

Stuff Benefits

Lost Checked Luggage

Up to $1,000 – not subject to deductible.

Lost/Stolen Passport or Visa

Up to $100 – Not subject to deductible.

Personal Liability

Up to $25,000 lifetime maximum and up to $75,000 with additional rider for a total of $100,000. Not subject to deductible or overall maximum limit.

Return of Pet

Up to $1,500, not subject to deductible, if you are hospitalized and no other traveling adult is able to care for the pet.
